Responsibilities:

• Partner with the client and videographer/ video producer to ensure that the script and the visuals align to achieve the desired message.
• Conceptualize and write video scripts for talking head videos, explainer videos, short content pieces, and promotional videos
• Summarize content to develop clear and concise video scripts
•  Develop content ideas, story angles, and editorial approaches
• Follow AP style guide and ensure content meets industry, brand, and editorial standards
• Provide editorial guidance and constructive feedback to copy
•  Draft compelling, easily digestible video content
• Deliver a consistent voice, tone, and style of writing with every piece of copy
• Contribute to, create and refine processes and implement content creation efficiencies
• Assist with any additional copywriting and editing requests
• Record voice-overs and on-camera reads for video content series as required

Qualifications:

• 4+ years writing experience, preferably as a freelancer or Bachelor’s degree in creative writing, journalism, communication studies
• Portfolio of completed works
• Own personal or laptop computer
• Familiarity with mainstream word processing software
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Capacity to work with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated, disciplined approach to work
