Photojournalist Photographer

Our client is looking for a freelance DC-based photographer to capture authentic moments and genuine communities uniquely for an upcoming campaign. 

As a photojournalist photographer, you will capture communities through portraits and scenery. The images will be used to tell the story of life in Washington, DC, through faces and landscapes. This project requires travel to multiple locations on multiple days. 

To be successful in this role, the photographer must have excellent interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail. A great photographer knows how to balance artistic integrity with the client’s demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients before the photoshoots to gauge their needs and expectations
  • Scout photoshoot locations
  • Follow the photoshoot list to ensure required images are captured
  • Get photo release form signed when capturing people
  • Must feel comfortable talking with people about the project and having them sign a release form.

Qualifications:

  • Portfolio of work showing photojournalist work
  • Photography training or understudy work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a schedule
  • Must have business insurance
  • Responsible for providing all equipment necessary to complete the job
